Tension has been reported in Elele Alimini Clan in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State following the killing of a member of a local vigilante in the area.
Reports say trouble started after the Vice Chairman of the Elele Alimini Community Development Committee, Christian Chuku was reportedly beaten to death by vigilante members in the area resulting in a reprisal attack from the village youths who allegedly murdered the vigilante member identified as John Amadi.
DAILY POST gathered that Chuku was reported to have had issues with the members of the vigilante group over the weekend before he was allegedly beaten to an unconscious state and rushed to hospital but was later rejected before his lifeless body was dumped at the vigilante group’s office.
A family relative to the CDC chairman, Ugo Wilfred said the remains of ”their brother have been taken away by vigilante members to an unknown destination”.
The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the development at the time of this report.
